The Cessation

Premiere 2021 Vienna -Austria

"The Cessation" alludes to the feeling of darkness that many people face in life, it questions the reasons behind this and presents some possible answers.

With the suggestion of the poem "I felt a funeral in my mind" by Emily Dickinson, we immerse ourselves in loneliness, sadness and delirium with the aim of investigating such questions, with the intent of talking about darkness

The story

The piece was originally created for the TANZTAG 2021 festival in Vienna, with the festival's support, and was presented at the WUK facilities. In 2022, it was remade for the BLARE DANCE COMPANY program in Vienna, also with support from WUK and Das Lot. In 2023, it was presented again in Vienna, this time at the ARCHE Theater, with support from BEARS IN THE PARK. In 2024, the piece was reworked as part of the Creative Rework program with members of the dance performance group at leadership qualification level 2, and was held at the Chisenhale facilities in London.
